Ndlovu wanted in China

ZIMBABWE Warriors skipper Peter Ndlovu, recently offloaded at English first division outfit Sheffield United, is wanted by top Chinese teams.

Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif”>Chinese soccer agent Eric Zhang of Rhino Sports this week told this paper that his company was making frantic efforts to locate Ndlovu.

“We are managing a number of top players, most of them are South Africans and some are coming from that league. Gilbert Mushangazhike is one of them and we wish to have Peter Ndlovu in our stable,” Zhang wrote to IndependentSport this week.

“We believe he is still a very good and fit player who can make the grade here. I can confirm that we have found a good job opportunity for him.”

Zhang pleaded: “Could you please help us locate the address of the player’s business manager who we only know as Winston. We will be highly appreciative if you can assist us, its very urgent, please give us a good answer.”

Ndlovu’s agent Winston Makamure could not be reached for comment as he was said to be out of the country at the time of going to press.

Ndlovu (31) has also been linked with a move to South African top sides Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and current champions Kaizer Chiefs.

However, Chiefs this week said it was only a rumour and there was nothing official on the deal. “That is not true,” Chief’s public relations manager Putco Mafani said.

“We haven’t sat down to discuss any new signings yet. Tinashe Nengomasha is our only Zimbabwean player and we have not considered acquiring another one.”

Gilbert Mushangazhike is the only local player in the Chinese premier league.
