Gumbo for Warriors job

ZIFA board has shown confidence in Warriors coach Rahman Gumbo and the coach is expected to be handed the job on permanent basis, subject to his acceptance of the terms of the contract. The association’s president Cuthbert Dube told Standardsport the he was expecting to meet Gumbo tomorrow.
“The board has shown confidence in Gumbo and has resolved to let him continue with the remaining assignments. We are going to talk to him to find out if he is interested in the job on a full-time basis,” said Dube.
The association’s chief executive officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze, said the coach should be resourced in his needs and preparations made by August 15, for the squad to play Angola in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in September.
“We do not want a situation where we will fail to qualify when we are just 180 minutes from making it to the finals. The board also hopes that by August 15, investigations in the Asiagate scandal would have been completed to enable the coaches to have a larger pool of players,” he said.
The board also resolved to stop paying the US$50 sitting allowances for board members.
The board also resolved to take PSL leadership head on as their matches have been marred by violence in the past half of the season.
“We want to deal with football hooligans once and for all,” Dube said
