DeMbare to overcome home ground ghost

Dynamos have not been feeling at home at the National Sports Stadium in this year’s Premier Soccer League campaign.

The giant stadium has become a fertile hunting ground for visiting teams with ZPC Kariba and Buffaloes emerging with shocking wins from there.

The only two wins Dynamos have recorded on home soil include capitalising on Harare City’s lethargic form to seal a 3-1 victory, as well as a last gasp win over FC Platinum, scrapped from a poor showing.

Struggling Triangle visit them this afternoon and pose another home humiliation that could further dent DeMbare’s title defence
No team has ever won over the other with their two meetings last season ending in draws.

Team manager Richard Chihoro is aware of the potential upset.
“This league has no small team,” said Chihoro.

“Last week Chiredzi United taught us that when we visited them in our last game. Every team is good so we know we can fall. We have not been that good at home so there is just need for a change in attitude. But we have good chances of winning on Sunday [today].

Dynamos are still hit by injuries with Devon Chafa, Anesu Gondo, Tafadzwa Rusike, Masimba Mambare and Tawanda Muparati not yet fit.
“Those who are there will play. We have a large pool of players to select from and we have been like that so far this season,” said Chihoro.

Dynamos have so far dropped 11 points this term which has put them in danger of denying them a fourth successive league title. But Triangle, who are three points from the bottom, are not buying into that.

Biggie Zuze arrived at the National Sports Stadium with his men who lost 2-1 to CAPS United in their last visit at that venue.

“Dynamos could have been struggling at home but we do not have to read into that,” said Zuze. “Every game has a new strategy and teams change. We have our own game plan which we think will help us do well. Anything can happen. My players know that we are not in a safe position and playing Dynamos is quite a challenge for them. I have been psyching them not to be intimidated by Dynamos’ vocal fans.”

Veteran midfielder Courage Denias has a long-term injury that will see him only return to action towards the end of the season.
He was injured early last month in the 5-1 home mauling by ZPC Kariba.

David Sengu, Jimmy Tigere and captain Chasten Ndondonga are doubtful of the Harare trip.
