The 35-year-old artist recently released his debut project, a single titled Jesu Munondida in which he speaks about his life experiences.

“Recording this song was an inspiration from my past experience and l saw God intervening in my life through music. I’m looking forward to record more music if God permits,” he said.

He said God can raise him from “grass to grace”, having grown up as an orphan in Masvingo.

Having been following many carriers in life Machaya says he had fallen in love with music.

“I started music long back but l abandoned the path because of financial constraints. I have tried other forms like drama where I was hosting shows in schools but it was not paying. Music is not paying much but to me, it seems more like a calling,” he said.

The artist said he was inspired by veteran gospel artists Charles Charamba and Mechanic Manyeruke. He said following their music has contributed a lot to his career.

“Sharing the stage with Charles Charamba, Mechanic Manyeruke and Blessing Shumba is one of my top priorities since they played an essential role in my carrier,” he said.

“The response to my single is amazing and surprisingly my fans are demanding more of my music.”

He said he was working on a new album to be released this year.
