Taruberekera to address global business summit

BY STYLE REPORTER
Land developer Kudakwashe Taruberekera will be among a myriad of business leaders drawn across the globe that will give speeches at this year’s Dubai Africa Business Summit to be held at the end of August.

This is not the first time that Taruberekera, founder and CEO of Craft Properties, has attended and given speeches at meetings of such a magnitude having been a regular at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit.

The Kadoma businessman confirmed to Standard Style that he would be part of those giving keynote addresses at the summit.

“I recently received an invitation to the Dubai Africa Business Summit where I am supposed to give a keynote speech among other business gurus attending the meeting,” he said.

“The summit will be held in Dubai on August 27 from 6pm to 10pm.”

More than 300 delegates from 20 African countries and 10 companies from Dubai are expected to attend the summit, including former and current heads of state, diplomats, ministers, top government officials, policymakers, top multinational officials and business leaders.

“It’s an honour to be part of this high profile gathering,” Taruberekera said.

“We hope the experience from that meeting would add value to our operations here in Zimbabwe and other countries where we have set up branches.”

Meanwhile, Taruberekera was part of 12 000 attendees to the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit that was held virtually.

The businessman said the meeting among other issues was meant to accelerate progress towards principled business and the Sustainable Development Goals.

“It was a virtual programme of 20 sessions for two days and attendees included leaders from business, civil society, governments and the UN who discussed the progress and challenges facing the world of business,” he said.

The sessions include Business Leadership in Troubled Times, Accelerating Private Sector Action for a Just Transition to Net-Zero, Tackling the Triple Planetary Crisis, Businesses’ Humanitarian Response to the War in Ukraine and regional sessions from all over the world.

Taruberekera was looking forward to joining the next flagship event Uniting Business Live to be held in September which will include the Private Sector Forum, the Global Impact Forum and the SDG Business Forum.
