Two Cottco Bose’s who were arrested for allegedly concealing transactions have been granted $100 000 bail.
Pious Manamike and Maxmore Njanji who were represented by Josephine Sande were released by magistrate Stanford Mambanje.
The duo were asked not to interfere with witness and to report once every Friday to their nearest police station.
Mambanje in his ruling indicated that the accused were people with attachement to the Jurisdiction of this Country hence there is no likelihood of abscondment.
The court also noted that there was insufficient detail in regards to the essential elements of the offence charged from the state and the ZACC officials.
Mambanje also ruled that in respect to Njani he declared his interest to the principal which is now a fact which was confirmed and admitted by Manamike, therefore the state case is weak against the accused.
The court stated that the accused were good candidates for bail as there is nothing that has been proven by the state to indicate that they will abscond.
According to sources close to developments, Njani is being accused of abusing COTTCO resources to fund his political ambitions.
However their arrest s are being linked to political fights within Zanu PF party as Njanji is set to challenge some Zanu PF big wigs in Mazowe constituency.
